On 5-18-2010 Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted the suspect in the area of Ave 308 and Camp. The suspect was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle. Incident to arrest the suspect was found to be in possession of two small bindles of a black tar substance believed to be Heroin. The suspect was displaying the objective symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Suspect also had an outstanding felony warrant. The suspect was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail.

This case is still under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect was hiding behind a vehicle inside the trailer park at 1453 S Plano in Porterville, as the victim walked toward the vehicle the suspect came out and fired several shots at the victim striking him once in the upper left shoulder.  the suspect then fled the area on foot.

Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit investigated a report of an armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon that occurred on May 4 th , 2010 in the 12500 block of Avenue 408 in Cutler. During the course of their investigation, detectives contacted and arrested 6 subjects, not related to the armed robbery case, for various Penal Code and Health & Safety Code violations.

As part of their investigation, detectives served a Search Warrant at a residence in the 13000 block of Quinto Ct., Cutler and assisted Tulare County Probation on a Probation search of a residence in the 12600 block of First Drive in Cutler. As a result of their investigation, detectives arrested two juvenile suspects and recovered some of the stolen property taken in the armed robbery.

All suspects were transported and booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility, Bob Wiley Detention Facility or the Main Jail in Visalia.

Third Arrest Made on Kidnap Case

 On 5-13-10 Detectives contacted Mark Cline, a 40 year old resident of Porterville, in regard to this case.  Information developed during the course of the investigation resulted in the arrest of Cline for kidnapping.  Cline was the subject identified with Robert Lee during the kidnap of the victim. This makes it the third arrest directly related to this incident.  Robert Earl Lee had previously been arrested for kidnapping and William Hart had previously been arrested for being an accessory after the fact.

 

The case remains under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Violent Crimes Unit.  Anyone with information in regards to this incident can contact Detective Maria Garcia or Detective Bari Molyneux at (559) 733-6218. 

 

Prior Release:On 5/8/10 at approximately 1830 hours, Tulare County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to the area of Poplar regarding a report of a possible abduction of victim Shyann Magee as she was reportedly on her way to the store.

 

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Investigations Unit also responded. Detectives worked on the investigation 24 hours a day from the time of the abduction until the victim and suspect were found today, 05/12/10 at 5:00 PM. They were located in a motor vehicle parked beside a residence in the 1200 block of south Harvard, just outside of the city of Lindsay. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the abduction.

 

During the investigation it was learned that after the victim was abducted, she was brought to the motor vehicle and kept against her will. The suspect reportedly was asking subjects known to the victim for the return of items he accused the victim of stealing, in exchange for her return.

 

Information eventually led Detectives to believe the victim and suspect may be at the residence on Harvard. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and Sheriff’s Detectives along with members of the California Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Lindsay Police Department served the warrant. The suspect and victim were found in the motor home and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. William Hart was also arrested for being an accessory after the fact. Evidence was located at the residence was including the suspect’s brown 1994 Ford Ranger Pick up, CA License plate number 6A66774, which was in the yard, covered with a tarp.

 

During the investigation, Detectives requested and gained the assistance of the following agencies:

On the above date and time the suspect was contacted during a bicycle stop for no lighting equipment. Subsequent to the investigation (1) plastic ziplock baggie containing a white crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine was located next to his person. The suspect was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail for HS 11377, Possession of a Controlled Substance.

UPDATE:  The US Marshal's Office and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are assisting the Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
Family members have reported the victim contacted them by telephone between 4:30 and 5:00 pm on 5-10-2010.

On the above date and time deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle at the above location. Upon contacting the vehicle’s driver, Ernesto Herrera (32 Years), it was determined he had no valid driver’s license. During the traffic stop, Herrera was found to be possessing a small amount of marijuana, a methamphetamine pipe and a small amount of methamphetamine. Herrera was arrested and booked at the Porterville substation on the above charges.

This case is currently under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

On 5-8-10, detectives from the Tulare County South End Investigation Unit were assigned a case involving an assault with a deadly weapon. During the investigation, detectives determined a known subject stabbed the victim with a knife during an altercation.

The victim was taken to Sierra View Hospital and later transported to Fresno Regional Hospital.

On 05-07-10, Deputies responded to Robinson St. and Ave. 310 in Goshen regarding shots fired. Upon arrival Deputies learned unknown suspects fired numerous rounds at a residence located in the 30900 block of Robinson striking two vehicles and the residence. The suspect fired from a vehicle and fled the scene North on Robinson. Occupants of the residence were in the front yard at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.
