Violation of Parole, Poss. of Meth for Sales, Participating in Criminal Street Gang

    On 01-13-2012 at 1745 Hours, Detectives with the North County Gang Violence Suppression Unit responded to a residence in the 40600 Block of Rd 128 in Cutler. Upon arriving at the residence, Detectives contacted Angel Alonzo and he was found to be an absconding parolee at large with the California Department of Corrections. Detectives also located approximately ONE ounce of methamphetamine packaged for sales, packaging material, and other items associated with the sales of narcotics. Alonzo was arrested and transported to the Tulare County Main Jail for booking. Alonzo is also suspected of participating in a criminal street gang.

Update to Martin Leon Homicide Case
LOCATION:  20800 Block of Guerrero, Richgrove          DATE:  09-26-2008          TIME:  2230 hrs
CASE NUMBER:  08-14281         VICTIM:  Martin Leon age 14          CITY:  Richgrove

On 09/27/2008, 0117 hours Deputies were dispatched to the victim's residence for a deceased subject. There they found the victim dead in his residence. It appeared he had been shot through the front door of his apartment while his other family members were away from the residence. He died as a result of the gun shot wounds.

Violent Crimes detectives responded to the scene to investigate. During the investigation it was determined there had been minor gang confrontations between members of the victim's family and rival gang members in the same apartment complex. Two suspects were identified as Julio Hernandez, 18 years (at the time) from Richgrove and Armando Gonzalez, 21 year (At the time), from the Woodville Labor Camp.

As this case was being investigated, Hernadez fled to Mexico. Gonzalez was arrested by the Porterville Police Department on 9/2/2010 on for an unrelated murder and is still incarcerated on that case at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility.

UPDATED INFORMATION:

On Sunday, 01.08.2012 Detectives followed up on a lead in McFarland. They located Hernandez there and found he moved there with family when he returned from Mexico. Detectives brought Hernandez in for questioning, without incident. He was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail for investigation of murder, assault with a deadly weapon and participating in a gang crime. Gonzalez is also being charged in this case. Detectives from the Porterville Police Department assisted during the course of this investigation.

Three Arrested for Assault with Deadly Weapon and Violation of Gang Injunction
LOCATION:  41300 Block of Road 128, Orosi          DATE:  01-10-2012          TIME: 
CASE NUMBER:  12-00460         VICTIM:  Male adult, age 18          CITY:  Orosi

Tulare County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a convenience store located in the 41300 block of Rd 128 in Orosi regarding an assault.  Upon arrival Deputies contacted two juvenile suspects who were physically assaulting the victim. The juveniles were subsequently arrested.

A third Suspect identified as 20 year old Victor Garcia was also contacted and arrested for ordering the juveniles to assault the victim. The victim sustained none life threatening injuries to his head. 

The assault is believed to be gang related.  The Case is still under investigation.          

Arrested were, 20 year old Victor Garcia, and two 16 year old juveniles from Orosi. They are being charged with Assault with a deadly and Violation of Cutler-Orosi Gang Injunction.

Armed Robbery in Earlimart
LOCATION:  137 S. State, Earlimart          DATE:  01-10-2012          TIME:  1020 hrs
CASE NUMBER:  12-0423         VICTIM:  (3) hispanic male adults          CITY:  Earlimart & Delano

On 01-10-2012 at approximately 1020 hours, two men approached the recycling center at located near Steve’s Mini Mart in a blue Chevy Truck.  The two men, whose faces were covered, approached three Hispanic males who were standing at the recycling center.  The two men pointed handguns at the men and took an undetermined amount of cash from the recycling center.  One of the suspects struck one of the victims on the back of his head and took his cell phone and wallet.  The two suspects fled the scene in the truck. 

At approximately 1115 hours the truck was located at Deer Creek and Road 144 on fire.  The vehicle was identified as stolen from the Delano area.

The suspects were described as two Hispanic male adults.  Their faces were covered from view and they were driving the blue Chevy truck.

The victims were listed as three Hispanic male adults from the Delano and Earlimart areas.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to please contact Det. Polk at 800-808-0488.

Sheriff's Office Switch to Debit Cards instead of Checks for Released Inmates

BURGLARY

Suspect in Custody: 20 year old Ricardo Escobar from Cutler


Deputies were dispatched to a residential burglary of a residence in the 40600 Block of Rd. 124, Cutler.  Victim stated unknown suspect(s) had broken a window and gained entry into his residence and stole a digital camera, jewelry and checkbook, valued at $780.00.   No property was recovered.
A possible suspect was identified as Ricardo Escobar.  Escobar was contacted at his residence, which is located across the street from the victim. Escobar was arrested for displaying symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance (meth).  Further investigation revealed Escobar to be a suspect in the burglary, due to minor injuries Escobar had on his hands, which were consistent with injuries the suspect would have sustained at the victim's residence. Escobar booked at Main Jail.

On 01/07/2012 Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted a 14 year old male on the 12700 block of Railroad Dr. in Cutler. The 14 year old male subject ran away and hid in a nearby abandoned building. TCSO Deputies located the 14 year old male inside the building.

Upon pat searching the 14 year old for weapons, he was found to be in possession of a dangerous weapon.

The case is currently under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.


Taken into custody were:
14 year old juvenile suspect.

Home Invasion Suspect In Custody, Shot by Victim

On the above date/time the victim who was home with his wife and four children, reported a subject was in his front yard kicking his dog, the subject then broke into the victim’s parked vehicle and removed a hammer. The subject, identified as Ridley, then attempted to gain entry to his residence by forcing open the attached garage door and bracing it with a rail road tie. Ridley then broke out the front living room window with the hammer and climbed onto the window ledge attempting to enter the house. The victim, who was standing in the living room, confronted Ridley as he was on the window ledge holding the hammer. The victim discharged one round from his firearm, striking the suspect in the upper right thigh. The victim had the suspect at gun point when the Deputies arrived. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated under guard by Sheriff's Deputies.

This case is still under investigation.

On 01-05-12 the Inter Agency Narcotic Enforcement Team (I.N.E.T.) consisting of personnel from Exeter Police Department, Visalia Police Department, Lindsay Police Department, Farmersville Police Department, Tulare County Probation and the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department assisted with serving a narcotic search warrant in the 200 block of South Ash in the City of Exeter.

Detectives secured and searched the residence. Detectives located approximately 68 pounds of processed marijuana and a small digital scale. Total street value of the processed marijuana was approximately $ 253,000.00.
 
Suspect Adelina Ortiz Botello was arrested and was transported and booked into the Tulare County Bob Wiley Detention Facility for the following charges:

11359 H&S       Possession of marijuana for sales

11366 H&S       Maintaining a location for the purpose of use/sales of narcotics

Attempted Assault w/ a deadly weapon, Violation of a Court Order, Criminal Threats

Narrative:

On 1-5-12 at approx. 2130 hours Deputies responded to the 2000 block of Soultz Dr., Tulare regarding a disturbance call. Upon arrival Deputies learned that (S) Walker had been at the (V)’s residence despite an active Restraining Order.  When (S) was confronted by family members and told to leave, (S) attempted to strike them with his vehicle.  The (S) then proceeded to make criminal threats at them as he fled the scene.  Responding Deputies contacted the (S) nearby in his vehicle and he was taken into custody without incident.  The (S) was subsequently arrested and booked at the Tulare County Main Jail for the above listed charges.

Assault w/deadly weapon, Child endangerment, Violation of Gang Injunction

TCSO Deputies were dispatched to the 12400 block of Ave 416 in Orosi regarding an assault investigation. Upon arrival the victim reported he was in a confrontation with two male suspect gang members, one of the suspects threatened him with a knife and threw  rocks at him. 

Deputies located the suspects in an apartment complex. A search of the apartment complex revealed a knife & two firearms accessible to 2 small children. 

The following suspects were arrested and charged as follows:

Victim- 35 yr old male home owner.

On 01/01/2012 at approximately 1900 hours, Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Ave. 404 in Cutler regarding a residential burglary and contacted the homeowner and his son. The homeowner advised when he returned home from vacation he found his residence to be burglarized. The residence was ransacked and damaged. There was graffiti tagged all over the walls of the residence in black spray paint and holes punched into the walls.

Items taken were: high end electronics, jewelry, cash, clothing, kitchen appliances, children’s bicycles, Christmas presents, Christmas decorations, candy canes and ornaments off of the Christmas tree. Total estimated value of loss was found to be over $22,000 dollars.

The case is currently under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff's Office.

On 1/1/12 at approximately 0110 hours deputies from the Orosi Substation responded to an address at the 3900 block of Jacobs Avenue regarding a report of a fight at a New Year’s party. Once on scene deputies contacted three subjects in a vehicle attempting to leave the area. Subsequent investigation revealed that the three had been involved in a physical fight in which a handgun had been brandished and criminal threats made toward the partygoers. Deputies located the gun in the suspect vehicle. The gun was found to be a toy gun with an altered/painted tip in order to resemble a real firearm. All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested on the following charges:

During the last week of December and into the New Year, personnel with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department North End - Gang Violence Suppression Unit concentrated their efforts to curb violence within the communities of Cutler, Orosi, Yettem, Goshen and Ivanhoe.

Three firearms were seized, described as a sawed-off rifle, sawed-off shotgun and semi-auto handgun, along with a small amount of methamphetamine and marijuana.

In doing so, (11) subjects were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Main Jail and Juvenile Justice Center without incident for the following charges;

Jose Quiroz (29 years) negligent discharge of a firearm

Francisco Lopez (22 years) negligent discharge of firearms, possession of illegal firearms and criminal street gang activity

Hugo Marquez (34 years) possession of methamphetamine and marijuana

Alberto Nanez (25 years) possession of a concealed weapon

Male Juvenile (15 years) violation of court order – civil preliminary gang injunction

Male Juvenile (16 years) violation of court order – civil preliminary gang injunction

Lucero Aguirre (20 years) contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Sandy Solis (19 years) contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Narrative:

Suspect: Eugenio Duanas   44 years old

Tulare County Sheriff's Patrol Deputies responded to a ranch north east Tulare in response to an assault reported between two co-workers.  Subsequent investigation found the victim and suspect had a argument regarding work related issues.  The argument escalated and the victim was struck in the head with a metal bar.  The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at
Tulare Regional Medical Center.  The suspect was located nearby and taken into custody without incident.
