Deputies contacted the above suspect and found him to be in possession of a controlled substance and arrested him.  He was subsequently charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Under the Influence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On 01/23/15 at approximately 1810 hours, deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 22800 Block of Avenue 184, Porterville regarding the location of 48 stolen bee hives. 

Upon arrival, the victim advised deputies that on 12/10/14 he had a total of 96 bee hives stolen from the Richgrove area. The victim advised he had located 48 bee hives that belonged to him and was able to identify the bee hives by his brand.  

The estimated recovery of the 48 bee hives totaled $19,200.00 the bee hives were returned to the victim.

UPDATE:

Tulare County Sheriff Detectives with the assistance of the Tulare Regional Auto-theft Task Force served a search warrant in the north 600 block of Chinowth in the city of Visalia.  Suspect Robert McMath 37 yrs, was taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported and booked at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property Charges and a Felony warrant out of Fresno County.  A second subject located at the residence was also arrested, Joey Jolly 24 yrs. of Visalia, was booked on several outstanding Tulare County warrants.  The case is still under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

On 01-28-2015 Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to a burglary alarm at Sunnyside School. Upon arrival Deputies discovered several classrooms had been entered and items taken.

On 1-28-15 Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a disturbance in the Earlimart area.  Upon arrival deputies observed a vehicle leaving the area.  While attempting to catch the vehicle to conduct an enforcement stop, the vehicle failed to yield at posted stop signs and continued to flee at a high rate of speed.  The deputy pursued the vehicle with his lights and siren activated.  The vehicle subsequently lost control at the intersection of Sierra and State striking a power pole.  The driver fled on foot and was later apprehended.

Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department were able to identify the second victim as Salvador Alcantar Hinojosa, 38 years old from Richgrove.

 

On 01-20-2015, an autopsy was performed on Salvador Alcantar Hinojosa at the Tulare County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death was determined to be from multiple gunshot wounds.

On 01-21-2015 at approximately 1120 hours, Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department took a report at the Porterville Substation regarding a missing person adult.  During the investigation, Deputies learned missing adult was identified as Noe “Nono” Martinez and was last seen leaving his residence East Porterville on 01-19-2015 at 2100 hours. Martinez has not been seen or heard from since leaving his residence.     

 

Martinez was last seen wearing black jeans, and a black hoodie or grey Echo hoodie, and black and white Adidas shoes.

The male was taken into custody for Domestic Violence/Violation of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order and booked at the Porterville Substation.

The female was taken into custody for Domestic Violence and was booked at the B.W.D.F. in Visalia.

Grand Theft and Possession of Stolen Property

Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Agricultural Crimes Unit Detectives investigated an illegal cattle feed lot operation located in the 21000 block of Avenue 245 in Lindsay. Detectives located 18 stolen 1,000 pound hay bales worth an estimated $4,500. In addition to the hay bales, Detectives also recovered numerous containers of stolen bovine veterinarian medications. The value of the medicine is not yet known.  Detectives have identified the suspect as a 30 year old Hispanic male from the Lindsay area. The case is still under investigation by the Agricultural Crimes Unit.

On 01-26-15 at approximately 2048 hours, Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, Cutler/Orosi Substation, were dispatched to an address located in the 1700 block of Ave 400, in an unincorporated area of Kingsburg, regarding a vehicle burglary that had occurred at the Kingsburg High School parking lot.  

Officers from the Kingsburg Police Department, along with Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, jointly investigated the case and subsequently arrested Noe Raiz for his involvement in the vehicle burglary. Raiz was booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility without further incident.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and treated for his injuries.  The injury was determined to be superficial and the victim remains in good condition. Narrative:

 

On 1/24/14 at 1000 hours, a deputy from the Porterville Substation conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation on the 1200 block of East Springville Drive in Porterville.  Upon the vehicle yielding, it was discovered the rear license plate was not the correct license plate for the vehicle and was being fraudulently displayed.  The driver, Ralph Wilson (48 Years Old), was contacted and discovered to have a suspended driver license.  

 

During a search of the vehicle, ammunition and methamphetamine were located inside.  Wilson is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing ammunition.  Wilson was arrested and booked into the Porterville Substation for the above charges.

On 1-23-15 at 1837 hours Deputies contacted a resident in the 1100 Block of E. MaryAnn Avenue in Earlimart who reported arriving home, and finding her front door open.  The resident visually inspected the house, and discovered someone had stolen her lap top computer, and miscellaneous clothing.  Her estimated property loss was approximately $852 dollars.  The point of entry was a window located near the front door.  No suspects have been identified in his case.

245 (a) (2) PC - Assault with a deadly weapon/ Firearm

On the listed date and time Deputies from the Sheriff’s Departments Headquarters Patrol Division were dispatched to the 30600 Blk of Rd 72 in regards to shots being fired and a man down. Upon their arrival they located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower back area. The victim was transported by Tulare County EMS to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds which are considered non-life threatening.

 

Investigators from the Sheriff’s Departments North County Gang Violence Suppression Unit were on duty and responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim was walking northbound on Rd 72 when a midsized dark colored SUV was driving southbound very slowly and when the vehicle reached the area of the victim, several shots were fired from the SUV at the victim striking him. The victim ran to a residence to call for help. The victim is being admitted for observation and treatment of his wounds, again which are not considered life threatening. No suspects are in custody at this time.

 

The case is currently under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Gang Violence Suppression Unit and no other information is being released at this time. Detectives with Tulare Police Department and the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department South County Gang Violence Suppression Unit, working in conjunction to curb illegal gang activity in the area, stopped a vehicle for minor traffic violations. The vehicle was stopped at Blackstone and Bardsley avenues in the city of Tulare. A passenger, later identified as Homero Ontiveros, fled from the vehicle and was taken into custody a short distance later by detectives. He was found to be in possession of a loaded .45 caliber semi-auto pistol concealed in his waist band. The pistol was found to be a reported stolen firearm from a Sheriff’s Department burglary investigation, case #10-9724. It was also discovered that (S) Ontiveros is a member of the “Norteno” criminal street gang and had an active Tulare County felony warrant issued for his arrest charging home invasion, possession of stolen property and motor vehicle theft with a bail amount of $20,000.00 dollars. (S) Ontiveros was further charged with resisting arrest, a felon and criminal street gang member in possession/carrying a concealed weapon.
A second passenger, Jorge Alonso, was found to be in violation of his probation and also a known “Norteno” gang member. (S) Alonso provided false information to the detectives when contacted and was arrested for violation of probation, providing false information and delaying a peace officer while in performance of his duties. (S) Alonso is on probation for receiving stolen property. 
The driver, Armando Cisneros, also provided false information to a peace officer and was arrested for that charge as well as delaying a peace officer while in performance of his duties. All three suspects were booked and housed at Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility.

On 1-22-15 Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded the Woodville Medical Clinic in regards to a battery.

Assault with a deadly weapon
LOCATION:  30800 block of Road 70, Goshen          DATE:  01/20/15          TIME:  0815 Hours
CASE NUMBER:  15-0786         VICTIM:  Hispanic male adult          CITY: 

On 01/20/15, at 0815 hours, Tulare County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 30800 block of Road 70, Goshen, regarding a shooting that just occurred with one gunshot victim.

   Upon arrival, Deputies learned that while the victim was visiting a family member at the said location, suspect approached them on foot.  Vitim and witnesses reported the suspect started an argument, then pulled out a handgun and fired one shot striking the victim.  The suspect fled the scene on foot to an unknown location.  The victim was transported to Kaweah Delta District Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released.

***Update News Release***

 

On 1-22-15 Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Detectives along with Tulare County Sheriff’s Department HQ Patrol Deputies followed up on several leads regarding possible locations of suspect Martin Feliciano.

 

At approx.. 1400 hrs. Deputies were following up with information in the 32500 block of Rd. 124, Visalia when they located Feliciano. Feliciano was subsequently arrested without incident and booked at the Adult Pre Trial Facility for the fresh charge of 245 PC, 1 misdemeanor warrant for $20,000 and 1 felony warrant for $30,000.

 

The case remains under investigation.

Felony Child Endangerment, Driving Under the Influence of (any) Drug, Possession of Marijuana
LOCATION:  Crabtree and Holcomb, Porterville          DATE:  1-21-15          TIME:  2050
CASE NUMBER:  15-90012         VICTIM:           CITY: 

Suspect: Ruelas, Jorge  29 YOA    Resides in Exeter. 

Victim: Four year old male juvenile resides in Porterville

 

   Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department South County Gang Violence Suppression Unit, observed a vehicle with equipment violations and driving in an unsafe manner. The vehicle was stopped by detectives at the above location. Upon the detectives contacting the driver, a large amount of smoke was seen emitting from the inside of the vehicle as the driver, (S) Ruelas, rolled his window down. The smoke was found to have been produced from the suspect smoking marijuana with his windows up while driving. Inside the vehicle detectives observed the 4year old juvenile to be in the passenger seat without a child safety seat or a seat belt restraint. The juvenile victim appeared to be unconscious and would not respond when detectives attempted to awaken him. Detectives found the child to have a low heart rate and an ambulance was summoned to check the status of the child. The child subsequently awoke and the child and his mother, who had responded after detectives called her to the scene, were transported to Sierra View District Hospital for evaluation. There the child was tested to ascertain if he was affected by the suspect’s use of marijuana in his presence. A small amount of marijuana and smoking paraphernalia was located in the suspect vehicle. The suspect did not possess a medical marijuana card.The child was released from SVDH and returned to his mother. Suspect was booked on above charges.

FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, SERIAL NUMBER REMOVED OFF FIREARM

On 1-21-15 Deputies conducted a traffic stop. The driver was contacted and found to be a prior felon in possession of a firearm. The serial number was removed from the firearm. The driver was subsequently arrested and booked into a Tulare County Jail.

(S) Jose Gonzalez 30 year old male from Pixley.

BATTERY, ELDER ABUSE
LOCATION:  42000 BLOCK OF R136, OROSI          DATE:  01-21-2015          TIME:  1742 HRS
CASE NUMBER:  15-858         VICTIM:  CONFIDENTIAL PER 293          CITY:  OROSI

Narrative: On 1-21-15 at approximately 1742 hours, Deputies from the Cutler-Orosi Substation responded to the 42000 block of Rd.136 regarding a report of a battery.  Upon arrival, the elderly victim reported her 36 year old son physically assaulted her during an argument. The victim sustained minor injuries to the upper body. He was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Pretrial Facility without further incident.

POSSESSION OF A CONCEALED FIREARM
LOCATION:  21400 BLOCK OF WHITTAKER WAY , OROSI          DATE:  01-21-2015          TIME:  1730 HRS
CASE NUMBER:  15-80005         VICTIM:  STATE OF CALIFORNIA          CITY: 

Suspect:  Hispanic Male 16 yrs old      Orosi, Ca.

On the listed date and time Investigators from the Sheriff’s Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit/ North County were conducting a Probation Compliance check of a known gang member in the 12400 Blk of Whittaker Wy.  Orosi, Ca. when the Investigators contacted the listed subject, a male Hispanic Juvenile sitting in the passenger side of a vehicle, at the residence. The Male subject, a known gang member as well, was found to have a loaded .45 caliber handgun in his waistband. The Male juvenile was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility on the listed charges.

BURGLARY
LOCATION:  300 BLOCK OF NORTH MARKET, EARLIMART          DATE:  01-21-2015          TIME:  1300 HRS

On 1-21-2015 Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress. 

The victim advised she arrived at her home and observed a broken window to her house.  She then saw the suspect inside her house wearing her husband’s clothes.  Suspect asked her to give him a ride and then fled on foot.  Physical evidence was located and collected.  The total loss/damage was estimated to be $300.00.  After an area search, the suspect remained outstanding.    

This case is being actively investigated by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department

CAR JACKING ** UPDATE
LOCATION:  CLAY / FRONT IN EARLIMART          DATE:  01-21-2015          TIME:

Tulare County Sheriff’s Detectives responded to the 500 block of N. Front Street regarding a follow-up investigation of a carjacking.  Detectives observed the victim's vehicle traveling east on Washington Street. 

Detectives attempted to stop the vehicle near the area of Washington and Front Street. In an attempt to evade law enforcement, the suspect drove down an alleyway, then through a resident’s backyard causing property damage. During the investigation, it was discovered the suspect had driven South on the northbound lane on Hwy 99 to evade law enforcement. 

The victim’s vehicle was later located abandoned South of Ave 56 on Hwy 99. 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his 30’s.

On 1-20-15 Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff Department responded to a report of a carjacking that occurred in the Earlimart area. Upon arrival, the victim reported that an unknown suspect used a weapon to force his way inside the vehicle while the victim remained inside.

The victim was taken against their will to another location at which time they were forced out of the vehicle unharmed while the suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle.  CHP located the vehicle a short time later in Kern County at which time the suspect(s) successfully evaded arrest.

The crime is still under investigation.

On 1-21-15 Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to a Domestic Violence call on Mariposa Street in Earlimart. 

Upon arrival they contacted the victim who stated her boyfriend had hit her and was observed to have multiple bruises.  The suspect was located within the residence and arrested without incident. The suspect was booked into the Tulare County Jail.

On 01-20-2015, an autopsy was performed on Hipolito Medrano Fernandez at the Tulare County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death was determined to be from multiple gunshot wounds.

Narrative:

On the above date and time Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Terra Bella for a shooting incident.  On arrival deputies located to victim, each of whom suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.  One victim was deceased at the scene and the second victim was transported to an area hospital and listed in critical condition.  At this time no suspects have been identified and a motive has not been established.

Upon arrival it was found that during the above referenced time frame, unknown suspect(s) entered the property through west side of the grape vineyard.  Once inside the property the suspect(s) stole 10 copper water valves.  Suspect tire tracks were located and processed. The total loss was estimated to be $3,000.00.

On 1-19-15 Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a burglary.

Upon arrival it was found that during the above referenced time frame, unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a chain link fence into the yard area of the shop.  Once inside the yard the suspect(s) stole approx. 200 gallons of diesel fuel, and a water pump.  Suspect tire tracks were located and processed. The total loss was estimated to be $1,000.00.
