The Sierra K-9 Trial is a law enforcement canine and handler competition hosted by the Tulare County Sheriff's and Visalia Police Department K-9 Units. Portions of this competition are open to the public to watch as each handler demonstrates their K-9 partner's agility, obedience and training.
The competition takes place this year on March 16th and 17th. Officers from around the state come to compete and receive their awards at the annual awards banquet and dance.
Sheriff and Police Explorers and Volunteers in Patrol are also a large part of the event as they provide food and merchandise booths, parking and assistance with the set up and breakdown for the event. Money raised from the food and merchandise booths help support the explorer programs.
The 2012 Sierra K-9 Trial is scheduled for Friday, March 16th and Saturday, March 17th, 2010 at the Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, CA. The day for public viewing is on Saturday, March 17th. Admission is free. |
